The Correspondence Between Politics and Academia:On the Inevitability and Necessity of Marxism’s Guiding Role in the Philosophical and Social Sciences
(Shi Pu)
The historicalreproduction of the relationship between academia and politics helps to search for the historical truth of“academic independence”,thus revealing the inevitability and necessity of Marxism’s guiding role.Marxism,as one of the ideological trends of the May Fourth period in 1919,through the intertwining and interaction of academic politicization and political scholarship, finally realized the unification of the Marxist scientific system as a guiding theory and the conscious revolutionary practice as the“salvation of the nation”.This marks the formation of the Marxist philosophical social science system and unveils the historical truth of the so-called“academic independence”:the abstraction of historical logic and its literal understanding by posterity can only make“academic independence”a false political imagination. Therefore,we need to respond positively to and refute those views that arbitrarily distort and dismantle Marxism,be particularly alert to those views that, under the banner of“academic independence”,actually aim at bringing Marxism back to a purely academic level, and fight with a clear stand against those contemporary views of“de-politicization”.
