The Four Dimensions of Marx and Engels’Demonstration of the Possibility of Common Prosperity of Mankind:
(Meng Shu-guang and Zhu Ke-xin)
Marx and Engels’idea of“common prosperity”is not a utopia beyond reach; instead,it is realistic, scientific and noble.Marx and Engels demonstrated the possibility of common prosperity of mankind from four dimensions:in the search of historical materialism for factual basis;in the study of the capitalist economy for hope; in the inheritance and transcendence of ideal socialism for acknowledgement; and in the identification of the scientific method of argumentation for enhanced supports.Marx and Engels placed“common prosperity”on a scientific and theoretical basis, relying on both logical arguments and the study of real problems. Thus, their idea of“common prosperity”is not only an ethical moral ideal, but also a scientific one.Through scientific methods,Marx and Engels discovered the development law of human society and came to the scientific conclusion that“common prosperity”must be achieved.
